Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost is the spookiest contender in the game’s lineup of events for 2024. After all, nothing is scarier than a four-year-old activity—though this time, guardians have a few more rewards up for grabs when completing these activities and finishing event challenges.
For the 2024 version, Bungie once again uses the event card system. This year, Bungie is tripling down by making an extremely similar version of the event challenges for Festival of the Lost, so if you’ve played this event before, you know what to expect.
If you want to start crossing event challenges off your list, you’ll need to finish the introductory quest from Eva Levante, which asks you to complete a Haunted Sector. After that, you can start progressing through these goals, which will require you to engage with the event activity and with other aspects of the game.
Here’s everything to collect and do in Festival of the Lost this year in Destiny 2.

In addition to the 16 triumphs added in 2023, Bungie also added four more objectives for players who want to gild their title:
- One of Many: Defeat all the Headless Ones in a single run of a Haunted Sector.
- Requires completion of Moon, Europa, EDZ, and Nessus Haunted Sectors.
- This event challenge was bugged in the 2022 edition of Festival of the Lost.
- Masked Mayhem: While wearing a Festival Mask, complete dungeons, raids, Master or Grandmaster Nightfalls, or win rounds in Trials of Osiris.
- Deathless One: Complete Haunted Sectors without dying.
- Requires completion of Moon, Europa, EDZ, and Nessus Haunted Sectors.
- Sweet Tooth: Collect Candy by completing activities and defeating combatants while wearing a Festival of the Lost Mask (requires 30,000 Candy earned).
If you already gilded your Ghost Writer title last year, you can start counting progress toward this last set of triumphs the second you load into Festival of the Lost, which will save some time if you’re after that bronze border for your name. The gilding will reset, though, so you’ll need to complete these objectives from scratch.
