RobbaN steps down from FaZe head coach position

FaZe Clan is undergoing more roster changes before the start of the upcoming 2019 CS:GO season.

The organization revealed today that head coach Robert “RobbaN” Dahlstrom is stepping down from his position on the European lineup. His decision to leave the team’s in-game system is fueled by his desire to focus on his personal life outside the world of Counter-Strike.

“I became a dad for the second time back in September and the traveling has been very hard for me,” Robban said in FaZe’s announcement today. “It has been hard to coach and still be the father I want to be. However, I will still work in FaZe. I will have a different role that I will announce later in January.”

Former MIBR coach Janko “YNk” Paunovic is rumored to be the next coach for the European powerhouse. The Serbian analyst-turned-coach was with MIBR for about four months before he was replaced on the new Brazilian lineup with Wilton “zews” Prado.

This move follows FaZe’s decision to bench in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen, who’s now playing on-loan for Team Envy in North America. At the moment, Nikola “NiKo” Kovac is calling the shots for the FaZe, but the team structure could change when the team brings on their newest fifth player. Former Gambit Esports star Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev is reportedly going to be karrigan’s replacement.

In his two years as the coach of FaZe, RobbaN secured numerous championships, including recent titles at EPICENTER, IEM Sydney, and ESL One New York 2017.
