Complexity Gaming’s primary AWPer Valentin “poizon” Vasilev is returning to the team’s active CS:GO roster, the organization announced today. The Bulgarian sniper is coming back just in time for Complexity to compete at BLAST Spring 2021 at full strength.
Poizon was hospitalized in December due to needing “an emergency surgery.” He missed the IEM Global Challenge while Complexity fielded ex-c0ntact player Otto “ottoNd” Sihvo as a stand-in. Poizon was unable to compete at either cs_summit 7 or the BLAST Premier Global Final as well, and Complexity used Jakob “JUGi” Hansen to fill in the sniper role.
Complexity have struggled to place well at recent events because of poizon’s absence. Additionally, Complexity’s newest acquisition, Justin “jks” Savage, has played poorly as of late, averaging a 0.86 HLTV player rating since December.
Outside of the Global Final where they were at less than full strength, Complexity have typically found success at BLAST Spring events. They qualified for the 2020 Spring EU Final after picking up shocking wins over both Astralis and Complexity. In the Spring Final, they beat OG, Natus Vincere, FaZe, and Vitality to win the entire event.
Complexity will face a familiar foe in Vitality in the Spring 2021 Group B play, which also features two talented teams in Evil Geniuses and G2 Esports. Their first match against Vitality takes place on Feb. 8.
