Another day at DreamHack Masters Stockholm has come to a close, and a few eye-opening results went down today.
The third quarterfinal saw Mousesports reverse sweep FaZe Clan and then North swept Natus Vincere. Even though both FaZe and Na’Vi were expected to go all the way to at least the semifinals, their poor showings shouldn’t overshadow Mouz and North’s wins in a tough tournament bracket consisting of the world’s best competition.

FaZe absolutely destroyed Mouz in map one Cache 16-1, where Nikola “NiKo” Kovac also earned himself an insane ace. Mouz redeemed themselves in map two Dust II (16-11) by leading for most of the game starting on their CT side and going into their overwhelming T side. The match decider, Train, was controlled by Mouz as they kept the European superteam on their heels. FaZe fortified their defenses and came back from 7-13 to 11-13, but it wasn’t enough for Mouz’s late executes, which helped close the series with another 16-11 score.
In the last quarterfinal of the day, North upset Na’Vi through two impressive performances, in which they were firing on all cylinders. After being toppled on Train (16-3), the CIS powerhouse finally found themselves on the Danes’ map pick, Inferno, starting with a 6-2 lead. North, however, turned up the heat on their CT side and into their T half, while also keeping Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s impact to a minimum. Na’Vi only won two retakes before North executed their way to a 16-9 win on Inferno. Philip “aizy” Aistrup and Valdemar “valde” Bjorn Vangsa shined the brightest in the server with 24 and 21 kills per map, respectively.
Mouz and North will face off in the second semifinal tomorrow at 7am CT, following the conclusion of Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Astralis at 4am CT. The grand finals of DreamHack Masters Stockholm will start right after at 11am CT.
