If you’re eager to put your hands on one of the cases in CS2, here’s how you do it.

How to get cases in CS2

There are a few ways to get cases in CS2. Each way has its advantages and disadvantages, but will ultimately result in you getting the blue skin you didn’t want in the first place.

But if you’re looking to get on the skin grind, you can go about it in multiple ways.

Weekly CS2 rewards

You can accrue a couple of CS2 cases through the weekly reward system. This will come around once a week, and provide a series of low-tier skins or cases for you to collect.

The only catch is, that you can only pick two from the selection provided. But, if you’re only looking for a case, just pick the case they give you.

This will provide at least one case for you to open and inevitably get a blue P90 skin. But fear not, that isn’t the only way.

CS2 market

If you’re looking to fork out a few francs to get your hands on some cases, you can go through the CS2 market.

This is an easy process that can help you get the exact case you want.

  1. Open up CS2
  2. Click the “Store” section on the tabs toward the top of your screen
  3. Go into “Market”

Once you’ve done this, you’ll be presented with a wide selection of cases. The prices of each case are dependent on the market price, and since CS2 skins have risen in value, so too have the cases.

Tip:

If you’d like to explore different ways to purchase CS2 cases, you can always try your hand at third-party sites that sell specific cases and skins. However, you ought to keep in mind that third-party site prices can vary wildly. You’ll also want to make sure you avoid buying from an unsafe site.

There is also one other way to get your hands on exclusive cases. To do so, players need to obtain a viewer pass for a Major tournament and then complete Pick’Em challenges.

Possible contents of CS2 cases

When you open a Counter-Strike 2 case, the items you receive belong to one of five different categories of rarity. Here are those categories and the likelihood that you’ll receive an item from each category:

Rare / Mil Spec (Blue)79.92%
Mythical / Restricted (Purple)15.98%
Legendary / Classified (Pink)3.2%
Ancient / Covert (Red)0.64%
Exceedingly Rare Special (Gold)0.26%

How to open CS2 cases

To open a CS2 case, players will need to purchase a case’s respective key from the Steam Community Market.

Once you have the key, launch CS2 and head over to your inventory. Search for the case and right click on it and select Unlock Container. You’ll be forwarded to the case-unlocking interface where you’ll get to use your key to open the case.
