Longtime Call of Duty Zombies players are undoubtedly happy about the return of round-based gameplay and other classic features in Black Ops 6. But one new item called Mutant Injection will literally change how you play the game—or, more specifically, what you play as.
How to become a Mangler with Mutant Injection in Black Ops 6 Zombies
Similar to Black Ops Cold War, Black Ops 6 Zombies will feature a Crafting Table that allows players to use the Salvage they’ve picked up from killing zombies to create some useful items. You can make Tactical, Lethal, and Support equipment at these Crafting Tables. One of the Support equipment items mentioned ahead of Black Ops 6’s release is called Mutant Injection—and it sounds like a real game-changer.
Mutant Injection, according to Activision, “temporarily transforms you into a Mangler… with all the bells and whistles.” You can see the item in action in the clip shared above by TimTheTatman.
“Once you inject yourself with the serum, you grow an additional three feet taller, become clad in plated armor, and can throw your weight about with a vicious Melee Swipe, ranged Mangler Cannon attack, and a zombie-killing barging sprint, all with some seriously impressive damage upgrades,” Activision said.
Manglers have been in several CoD Zombies games before, including Black Ops 3, Cold War, and MW3. In Black Ops 6 Zombies, though, Mutant Injection will allow you to take on the form of one of these giant, armor-wearing, cannon-wielding undead.
It’s unclear at this time exactly how much Salvage the Mutant Injection Support equipment will cost to make at the Crafting Table, or if there will be any sort of cooldown on how often you can become a Mangler. It’s also unclear if the Mutant Injection is only available on Terminus or if it’ll be in every Black Ops 6 Zombies map.
We should learn more about this new game-changing item ahead of Black Ops 6’s release on Oct. 25.
