During the Gfinity Spring Masters tournament, the first professional Call of Duty event Gfinity has hosted on Advanced Warfare thus far this year, they announced a Pro League that will be analogous to the Major League Gaming (MLG) Pro League. The MLG league has been running since the start of Call of Duty Ghosts and is currently in Season 2 on Advanced Warfare.

Chris Puckett sat down with Gfinity’s Martin Wyatt to discuss the European Pro League in the video above. While the competitive Call of Duty community is a bit smaller in Europe than it is in North America, it is easily the second largest fan base in the world and is home to many top teams such as Epsilon and TCM Gaming.
Wyatt says that there will be three seasons on Advanced Warfare (they must be short because the game is halfway through its lifespan already) and large sums of money will be involved. There will be two main divisions for the league, a major deviation from the Pro League system that MLG uses. Modelled similarly to the English Football system, there will be a ‘Premier League’ and a lower tier ‘Championship League’ followed by a series of even lower tier leagues. This will obviously allow many players and teams to participate in a structured manner. There will be a relegation and promotion involved so the top teams of a league move up to better competition and the bottom ranked teams move down to an easier division. Each league will be populated by 8 teams, with the Premier League having 6 invited teams and 2 teams that must qualify.
Beginning June 10th, the league matches will be streamed on the Gfinity MLG channel (MLG.tv/Gfinity) on Wednesdays.
