Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has a mixture of new weapons and old ones from previous games. One of them can be found here in the best DG-56 LSW loadout.
The DG-58 LSW is a fully automatic machine gun version of the regular DG-56 three-burst rifle. Still maintaining high accuracy and handling, reducing the recoil of this LMG is the key to unlocking its full potential.
If you’re trying to find the best loadout, class setup, and attachments for the DG-58 LSW in MW3, here’s what you need to know.

Best DG-58 LSW build in MW3 multiplayer
- Barrel: DG Emperor-V Heavy Barrel
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Stock: Recoil Reduction Buttplate
- Underbarrel: Kimura RYN-03 Vertical Grip
- Rear Grip: Varanus Steady Grip
The DG-58 LSW already has impressive accuracy with a considerably high damage and fire rate, so decreasing recoil will be the center focus of this build. The Recoil Reduction Buttplate and Kimura RYN-03 Veritcal Grip will both work to reduce recoil to get a better handle on the LMG.
Being a machine gun, the main focus of this weapon is to barrage your enemy with gunfire, and the 60 Round base mag is good enough. The DG Emperor-V Heavy Barrel will also help out with Recoil Control and Gun Kick Control to improve the accuracy of those shots. Optics are entirely dependent on preference, but I strongly recommend one for this weapon, and the Slate Reflector is the best in the game for mid-range.
Many of these attachments might not be available to use right after unlocking the weapon, but before then, you can use any other attachments that help stabilize the DG-58 LSW, improve accuracy, and reduce recoil. By the nature of LMGs, you won’t be very mobile with this weapon, but it’s not that bad compared to other LMGs.
Best DG-58 LSW class setup in MW3 multiplayer
- Vest: Infantry Vest
- Handgun: Renetti
- Tactical: Stun Grenade
- Lethal: Frag Grenade
- Field Equipment: Munitions Box
- Gloves: Commando Gloves
- Boots: Lightweight Boots
- Gear: Tac Mask or EOD Padding
The DG-58 is a heavy, bulky weapon that can take some time to haul around and reload. The Commando Gloves and Lightweight Boots can help tackle this issue, while the EOD Padding can make you more resilient against explosives whenever you post up to lay down fire. Consider swapping to Tac Mask if you’re having issues with stun grenades. Call of Duty
Runnin’ and gunnin’ is the name of the game in Call of Duty, but an LMG, as mentioned above, can slow you down considerably. Camping in a corner definitely won’t be what helps you most when you’ve got an LMG, but blindly rushing forward isn’t a great help either. It can be tempting to spam the sprint button when you’re not in combat, but if you walk rather than run while carrying your LMG, you can have a lot more success.
Given that you will be blasting through your ammo on a regular basis, I recommend taking the Munitions Box so you won’t need to rely on your sidearm or switch weapons. Grenades are also a matter of preference, but I find leading most encounters with both a frag and stun grenade makes enemies far easier to dispatch afterward.
