Australian Black Ops 3 LANs Now 18+

The game hasn’t been released yet, but there has already been a major change to the competitive side of Call of Duty Black Ops 3. Due to a more restrictive game rating, Australian Black Ops 3 LAN events will only be open to players age 18 and older. This is a major blow to the competitive Call of Duty scene, as many players competing are on the wrong side of the age restriction. In the past, the only event that players under the age of 18 could not participate in was the Call of Duty Championship. Fortunately, online events put on by Doesplay and other tournament hosts will not be bound by the R18+ rating.

As stated by the Australian government, a game with an R18+ rating fits the following criteria:

The content is high in impact. R 18+ material is restricted to adults. Such material may contain classifiable elements such as sex scenes and drug use that are high in impact. Some material classified R18+ may be offensive to sections of the adult community. A person may be asked for proof of their age before purchasing, hiring or viewing R18+ films and computer games at a retail store or cinema.
