The moon of Pandora is open for exploration in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but how detailed is the character creator?

We’ve seen some spectacular character creators in other games that launched in 2023, with the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield, though Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s customization options are a bit more limited.

That said, the ability to create your own Na’vi is one of the biggest appeals about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora—especially as the game is canon in James Cameron’s universe, taking place after the events of Avatar: The Way of Water. Here are all the details you need to know about the character creator in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the customization options available.

Does Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora have a character creator?

Yes, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does have a character creator, and you can also update your character’s appearance at any time you like, as your initial choices are not final.

The character customizer is fairly basic, however, with limited options. You’ll be able to change your face, body type, bioluminescence, gender, hair, and face paint, among other minor tweaks, but you’ll struggle to create an Avatar version of yourself or your favorite celebrity.

Players are also restricted to the forest-dwelling looks of the Na’vi. The water-dwelling Metkayina seen in Avatar: The Way of Water are not featured, and don’t appear as options. That said, this does make sense, given the game’s setting.

There are further customization options including character cosmetics, weapon skins, and different looks for your Ikran available as pre-order bonuses, and we’ll likely see further cosmetics introduced over time.
