Update 3:40 p.m. CT: It looks like Octane may not arrive today after all. Streamers on the Official EA Central YouTube channel have not confirmed Octane, and say they are unable to comment on leaks. We will update this story if more information becomes available.
A few weeks ago
New evidence posted to Reddit implies Octane may not only be real, but he could be joining the game today.
Many players have reported seeing the above image for a few moments while signing into Apex Legends this morning. They also claim the image was quickly taken down, as if it wasn’t supposed to be there yet.
Another user pointed out that an EA website posted a larger version of the photo without any text. If previous leaks are correct, the character in the accidental uploads is in fact Octane, the High Speed Daredevil.
The leaked image also reveals that the long-awaited battle pass for Apex will cost 950 Apex coins, and that players can use the battle pass to wield new unique weapons and score unique loot. As long as the patch doesn’t make any changes to the cost of Apex coins, players should be able to purchase the battle pass for about $10.
The battle pass is expected to be revealed later today in a livestream hosted by EA. If Octane is also revealed during the broadcast, it will set a huge precedent for the legitimacy of leaks with regard to Apex. We will have to wait a little while longer to know for certain, but hopefully today we get to take Octane, the High Speed Daredevil for a thrill ride.
