Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, the most successful League of Legends player in the world, accidentally locked in mid lane Nunu while streaming this week. Rather than sit around and wait for the lock-out timer to run down, he created a custom lobby and invited his viewers to join.
The lucky first person to join was chosen by Faker to battle him in a one-on-one Lee Sin mirror match, according to an English translation posted on YouTube channel Today on the Korean Server. It was, as you’d imagine, hilarious.
Faker allowed eight more players to join, but instructed them all to sit on the sidelines and watch the duel between Faker and his guest. They all obliged, but after a little while, they began fighting one another in the jungle, river, and after the one-vs-one was over, diving through towers to try to kill Faker.
Every time Faker’s combatant dodged an ability or landed something half-cool, Faker would call him Grandmaster in jest. Truth be told, they were actually pretty good, but pretty good has never been enough to beat Faker. After the minion wave was pushed up toward Faker’s tower, both players were done messing around, and the real fight started.
Faker killed his one-vs-one partner and left the fight with most of his health still intact, and that’s when all the spectators began running him down the mid lane, diving through towers in an attempt to kill him. None of them actually got him, though, and he ended the one-vs-one with a couple more kills before asking everyone to leave so he could rejoin his ranked queue.
This was very entertaining, but unfortunately, this isn’t the sort of thing that Faker does often. Even though it likely won’t happen again soon, it was very fun to watch this time.
