CDL rostermania: All confirmed CoD roster changes after 2023 Call of Duty League season

The 2023 Call of Duty League (CDL) season is over, with the New York Subliners being crowned world champions. And that means one thing: CoD rostermania is upon us.

The CoD gods have blessed us, as after a long season, many of the 12 CDL teams are eying other players to replace the ones with which they finished the year. And while we don’t know if, when, or on what game the next CDL season will be played, we have some confirmed roster changes.

If you’re too busy enjoying the warm weather, focusing on other esports, or just living your life (yuck), we here at Dot Esports have tasked ourselves to keep you updated on what roster moves around the CDL have been confirmed when they’re actually announced.

Here are all of the confirmed CoD roster moves after the conclusion of the 2023 CDL season.

All CoD roster changes during rostermania post-2023 CDL season

Note: ‘Unrestricted’ free agents generally do not have active contracts and are free to sign with any team. ‘Restricted’ free agents, however, typically refer to players who are still under contract with a team but allowed to explore options to move elsewhere. If another team wishes to sign a restricted free agent, it will likely have to pay a fee (aka a ‘buyout’) or otherwise strike a deal with the player’s current team to complete any acquisition.

Las Vegas Legion

  • Nov. 12: Attach, Nero, Purj, and Standy sign with the Legion.
  • June 27: TJHaLy and Temp announce they are both unrestricted free agents, leaving no Legion players under contract heading into free agency.
  • June 26: Standy, who joined the Legion in March, tweets he is an unrestricted free agent.
  • June 21: Clayster announces he will soon be an unrestricted free agent.

London / Carolina Royal Ravens

  • Nov. 9: Carolina announces Clayster, GodRx, Gwinn, and ReeaL as the Royal Ravens’ 2024 CDL roster.
  • Sept. 22: Saintt joins as the Royal Ravens’ general manager and head coach.
  • Sept. 5: The Royal Ravens relocate and rebrand to the Carolina Royal Ravens.
  • June 29: London tweets that head coach Dominate has departed the organization.
  • June 28: London announces the departure of skrapz.
  • June 27: Ulisses, who made his CDL debut in March, tweets he will be an unrestricted free agent.
  • June 26: Asim and Nastie announce they are both set to become unrestricted free agents this offseason.

Boston Breach

  • Nov. 8: Beans officially departs from Boston.
  • July 29: Capsidal signs with the Boston Breach.
  • July 21: Beans announces he is a restricted free agent.
  • July 19: Boston signs SlasheR and Priestahh.
  • July 14: The Breach parts ways with Kremp.
  • July 10: Boston officially announces Snoopy as part of the Breach’s roster for next season.
  • June 26: The Breach announces it has parted ways with Owakening.
  • June 25: Boston confirms the departures of Vivid and Nero, both of whom finished the season on the Breach’s bench.

  • Aug. 24: The Florida Mutineers rebrands to the Miami Heretics and announces the CDL roster of ErikBooM, JurNii, Vikul, Lucky, and MettalZ.
  • June 26: Florida announces that Brack, Capsidal, FeLo, and substitute Havok are all unrestricted free agents this offseason. The team also released head coach Phillip Willett and analyst Ashkan “Cheek” Chitsaz. This presumably leaves only Vikul under contract, as he will reportedly be a part of the Mutineers’ rebrand to the Miami Heretics.

  • June 28: Minnesota tweets the departure of José “ReeaL” Manuel Fernández, a member of RØKKR Academy since February 2022.
  • June 25: Minnesota announces it will not exercise second-year options for Attach, Bance, Cammy, and substitute Afro, making them unrestricted free agents. Additionally, the RØKKR confirms Fame’s contract is set to expire, meaning the team will have zero players under contract heading into free agency.
  • June 21: Minnesota parts ways with head coach and general manager Saintt.
