Not all quests in Honkai: Star Rail will have clear descriptions. When you reach your destination, you can suddenly be presented with a challenging puzzle, increasing the overall time it takes to complete a challenge.

While some players will be naturally gifted at puzzles, others may not appreciate their presence. If you prefer spending as little time as possible on puzzles, the following steps should help you get through the Abacus Circuitry Puzzles in Honkai in no time.

Solving the Abacus Circuitry Puzzle in Honkai: Star Rail

Solving the Abacus Circuitry Puzzles is relatively easy, but it requires you to think outside the box, and there are a few mechanics you need to know.

How does the Abacus Circuitry work?

For these puzzles, your goal is to move the “S” tile to the corresponding blank tile using the controls. Each jade tile represents the center of a circle, and when selected, the tiles around it will be highlighted in yellow—this shows you the path your tile can take.

It’s important to note that you can move your tiles clockwise or counterclockwise around the circle so you aren’t too limited in moving the tile. But it can only be moved along the yellow highlighted tiles.

And if two jade tiles share a portion of the same path, i.e., they overlap like a Venn diagram, you can move the “S” tile onto a whole new route simply by moving it to one of the overlapped tiles and selecting the other jade tile. You can use the controls from there to move the “S” tile around a new highlighted path.

It sounds much more complicated than it is, but once you understand the basics of how this puzzle works, you’ll be able to solve it.

How to solve the Abacus Circuitry Puzzles

Each Abacus Circuitry Puzzle is different, but you’ll follow relatively the same puzzle-solving method we’ve listed above. Here’s one of the Abacus Circuitry Puzzles I had to solve and the steps I had to take:

  1. Take control of the top computing module, the jade tile, by selecting it.
    • This highlights the path around it and shows you where you can move the “S” tile.
  2. Move the “S” toward the right in a clockwise motion twice.
  3. Take control of the bottom computing module, the jade tile, by selecting it.
    • You’ll notice that the blank tile, the “S,” is now on a new, highlighted path.
  4. Move the “S” to the bottom, where the dull “S” tile waits.

The puzzle will be completed when the “S” reaches the bottom, allowing players to proceed on their adventures.

Tips for solving the Abacus Circuitry Puzzles

While some puzzles are easy to solve, others are much more complicated. And it can be frustrating when you have to keep resetting the puzzle.

One of the best things to do if you’re struggling is to leave it and return when you have a fresh mind. Or you can screenshot the puzzle, highlight each path in different colors, and find the common blank tiles. You should be able to uncover which tiles overlap and, from there, a route that’ll help you solve the puzzle. And this also works if you have two “S” tiles on the same path, which can make things tricky.

You’ll first discover the Abacus Circuitry puzzles through the “Venom Brews, Immortality” quest. This puzzle type, however, continues to appear in future quests, but they become easier to complete once you get the basics.
