Playing Junkrat on Temple of Anubis, New York Excelsior DPS Kim “Pine” Do-hyun knew where to find Boston Uprising’s Sombra.
Pine found Boston Uprising DPS Park “Neko” Se-hyeon’s translocator under the bridge by the second capture point and immediately dropped down a mine. His foresight is truly stunning: Not even a second after the mine drops, Neko teleports right to Pine’s location—and boom! Pine sets off the trap and knocks out Neko.
Excelsior took on Uprising on day two of the Overwatch League’s scheduled preseason exhibition matches, showcasing the kind of game sense that allows for such plays.
The series kicked off on Dorado, where Excelsior full held Uprising on the first point—not a great start for Boston. Excelsior took another map win on Temple of Anubis before Uprising struck back with a 2-0 map win on Oasis. Eichenwalde rounded out the matches, ultimately giving Excelsior the series 3-1 win.
The Overwatch League preseason continues Dec. 8 and 9 at the Blizzard Arena Los Angeles. The regular season will begin Jan. 10.
