Call of Duty: Warzone is a whole lot more than just battle royale. Warzone has been a mainstay for gamers since it launched not only thanks to battle royale mode, but respawn modes like Resurgence, which returned in season two of Warzone 2. And now it’s Plunder’s turn.
Plunder is a game mode that deviates from the standard battle royale of Warzone by making the primary objective to collect as much in-game money as possible by duking it out with the other hundred or so players on the map. The first to $2 million wins the match.
The game mode was popularized in 2021 as a part of the original Warzone, and it has been missed in Warzone 2 ever since it released.
Thankfully, it’s on its way to Warzone 2 for the first time and it’s coming pretty soon.

Here’s everything to know about the upcoming release of Plunder in Warzone 2.
Warzone 2 Plunder release date
Activision confirmed that Plunder will come to Warzone 2 in season three, which launched on April 12. But the money-hungry mode won’t be available right at launch, sadly.
“As you gear up for Ranked Play and continue to prove your Battle Royale prowess, focusing on Plunder is an excellent way to practice with your Loadout before hopping into competitive matches,” Activision said. “Because most of the core gameplay mechanics, including health and armor, are similar between Plunder and other Warzone 2 modes, this mode is a great opportunity to live-fire test some Loadouts or level up new weapons, such as the ones coming this season.”
Is there an official release date for Plunder in Warzone 2?
Finally, Plunder has an official release date. On April 25, Activision confirmed that Plunder will be coming to Warzone 2 on April 26.
Plunder will likely go live at around 12pm CT on April 26 as part of the weekly playlist update in CoD. It could just as easily be taken away again and rotated out for another mode, so players should be prepared to grind Plunder as soon as they can for as long as they can.
