Sand is a material you can forage in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and it’s a crucial crafting material not only for decorations but also for specific quest items. However, getting Sand and getting it fast can be challenging if you don’t know where to look.
How to get Sand in Dreamlight Valley, explained
You can get Sand in Disney Dreamlight Valley by using your ‘Shovel’ and digging the beach at Dazzle Beach. If you own the A Rift in Time expansion, you can also get Sand by digging The Plans, The Wastes, The Oasis, and The Borderlands in the Glittering Dunes.
Unfortunately, even if you dig one plot on Dazzle Beach or in the Glittering Dunes’ biomes, you aren’t guaranteed to get Sand. You can, of course, dig multiple plot rows, and you will get Sand that way. But it’s tedious and time-consuming.
There is a faster way to get Sand that requires more work and some patience. It also requires the help of another member of the Valley.
How to farm Sand in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The quickest way to farm Sand in Dreamlight Valley is to mine all the coral nodes on Dazzle Beach, as they provide quite a bit of Sand. More specifically, you can get the following amount of Sand:
- For the small coral nodes, you will get three Sand.
- For the large coral nodes, you will get around eight Sand.
Once you exhaust the coral, you must return to digging on the beach to find Sand.
Ensure you bring a character that helps with digging to increase your Sand yield.
However, to mine these coral nodes, you must upgrade your Pickaxe, which means you need Maui’s help.
How to upgrade your Pickaxe in Disney Dreamlight Valley
If you want to farm Sand quickly, prioritize Moana’s realm door in the Dream Castle because you must first bring Moana to your Village to get Maui. Moana and Maui will eventually come to the Valley after you’ve completed their questlines. However, Maui is the one you’ll want to befriend since he will help you strengthen your Pickaxe.
You must complete Maui’s first quest to break the small coral chunks. However, to break the large coral nodes, you must finish Maui’s fourth friendship-level quest, A Tale of Stone and Fire.
The fastest way to increase your friendship level with a Villager is to bring them their favorite gift, serve them at the restaurant, and spend time with them.
During the quest A Tale of Stone and Fire, the three main tasks include:
- Gathering items from Moana’s Realm.
- Making Maui a five-star meal.
- Gathering the materials to craft the Granite Fire Bowl, crafting it, and placing it in the Village.
If you don’t know any five-star meals, the easiest one to make is the Ranch Salad, which requires Lettuce, Bell Pepper, Corn, Tomato, and Onion. Or, my personal favorite, the Large Seafood Platter, which only requires one Lemon and Four Seafood (you can use the clams, oysters, and scallops found directly on Dazzle Beach).
After you’ve made Maui his five-star meal, you can go to Dazzle Beach and mine coral nodes for guaranteed Sand. Once you’ve crafted and placed the Granite Fire Bowl in the Village, you must talk to Maui to complete the quest.
So, whether you need Sand to Sandt decorations or if you need to refine them to make Glass, this is everything you need to know about how to get Sand fast in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
