Esports organization Team Rogue has signed seven players to its Fortnite: Battle Royale roster, making its lineup one of the largest in the game.
With popular streamer Ben “DrLupo” Lupo leading its expansion into Fortnite, Rogue added Robert “Gingerpop” Breakey, Finnley “gommru” Payton, Alex “AlexJJ” Campbell, Ryan “ipDRe” Haberkern, Luis “ZodiacTTV” Torres, Ryan “00flour” Borst, and John “WallHackJack” Franzen earlier today.
DrLupo, one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, has became a major fan favorite on the streaming site since the release of Fortnite. And he’s used his popularity for good, raising over $350,000 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital as part of GuardianCon’s marathon charity stream earlier in the month.
The rest of the roster, unlike many other professional teams’, features players from multiple continents. While DrLupo, Gingerpop, ipDRe, ZodiacTTV, 00flour, and WallHackJack are from the United States, gommru and AlexJJ have proven to be impressive players in England.
Founded a little over two years ago, Rogue, which is based in Las Vegas, has fielded impressive rosters in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, and H1Z1. With several championships already under the organization’s belt, Rogue’s newest team will have high expectations from fans.
“DrLupo and I spent months going through hundreds of players to find the talented individuals that we announced today,” said Frank Villarreal, Rogue owner and co-founder. “We are committed to turning them into top competitors and personalities in Fortnite, and DrLupo and I will continue to push them to be the best influencers and players that they can be. We are committed to a spirit of individuality with these players and hope that the clash of personalities and styles will give fans a lot of entertainment.”
Competing against the likes of FaZe Clan, OpTic Gaming, and Team Liquid, Rogue will have their work cut out for them to win championships in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
