A new weekly update is available to download for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and it is full of quality of life improvements for the early access title. The 1.5 GB download focuses on server and client performance, as well as a number of bug fixes.
On the server side, the update resolved an issue with server performance dropping drastically in certain situations. For the client side, four total improvements were noted in the patch notes, including improved rendering performance of other characters, vehicles at a distance, and weapon effects at a distance. Client performance was also improved during ranged combat.
“PlayerUnknown” himself, Brendan Greene, posted this image on Twitter highlighting the server improvements that came with the update.
Overall, most players should notice an improvement in the game’s performance, especially when it comes to framerate.
Next week marks the arrival of June’s bigger monthly update, which will add a slew of new features to the game, including the Glock 18-C fully automatic pistol. Future planned updates will add another new weapon, vaulting and climbing mechanics, and different weather options.
With bug fixes and improvement patches every week on top of more large scale content updates every month, Battlegrounds players have something to look forward to for a long time into the future.
