Paris Saint-Germain revealed the first two players in their venture into esports on Thursday through the purchase of Team Huma. The French team presented Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim, August “Agge” Rosenmeier and Lucas “DaXe” Cuillerier to journalists, as well as a nicely sized Twitch audience at Parc des Princes. Given his retirement from the professional scene this week, Kim will be in charge of managing, finding and coaching players for PSG’s future League of Legends venture, which you can read more about in our article here. Rosenmeier is Denmark’s FIFA 17 world champ, while Cuillerier is a French rising star. Chairman and CEO Nasser Al Khelaifi expressed his gratitude towards the big name French superstars and claimed that he has “big plans for the next three years.” “We have decided to invest in esports and to enter our teams in two of the sector’s most iconic games,” Al Khelaifi told the media according to ESPNFC. “The decision forms part of the club’s international development strategy and our digitisation project. It also represents a new way for PSG to engage with its fans and to attract new ones in key development markets. Esports is a part of our future activity and our brand. PSG must win, there is no choice.” The two FIFA players are scheduled to represent their new team at the Paris Games Week at the end of this month. Kim will be coaching in the Challenger Series, which is the European second division for League of Legends, due to PSG being new to the game.
