VALORANT weapon skins are the perfect way to showcase each player’s style but are not always the best way of showing how long the player has been playing. Weapon skins have a tier system, ranging from Select to Ultra, but these tiers largely have no impact on or indication of rarity.
A few rare VALORANT skins, however, will prove that a player has stood the test of time. These skins appeared for a short period of time and were usually tied to a special event.

These skins are rare because they only appeared in the store for a limited time and will not be returning; you won’t see them in your daily store listings or in your Night Market. Those who were able to grab the skins while they were available to purchase can now flaunt them knowing they have a piece of history with them.
What is the rarest weapon skin in VALORANT?
Arcane Sheriff
This one-of-a-kind Sheriff skin was inspired by one of the main characters in Riot Games’ Netflix series Arcane, Jinx, and was based around the popular title League of Legends. Arcane was a smash hit worldwide, and Riot capitalized on it by doing multiple crossovers between Arcane and its other titles. In addition to the Jinx Sheriff, VALORANT also received player cards, sprays, and titles.
The bundle came with Patch 3.09 on Nov. 2, 2021, and was in the shop for 2,377 VALORANT points. Since the weapon skin was part of a special event crossover with Arcane, the Sheriff will not be returning to the shop, making it one of the rarest skins in the game.
Wavefinder Shorty
The Wavefinder Shorty was the first Prime Gaming weapon skin released for VALORANT. Previously, Prime Gaming had released gun buddies, sprays, and player cards. Like previous Prime Gaming unlockables, the weapon skin lasted for a few weeks before it was replaced by something else. If players had Amazon Prime linked to their Twitch account in January and February 2022, they received the Wayfinder Shorty skin, making it one of the most valuable skins.
The Champions Bundles
One of the most sought-after VALORANT skins is the Champions Vandal and Karambit knife. These were included in the Champions bundle, which was released during the first Champions tournament in December 2021. The bundle cost 6,263 VALORANT Points for two weapon skins, various player cards, and a title. The proceeds from the Champions bundle went to the 12 teams participating in the event and raised millions of dollars.

In 2022, Riot released another Champions bundle, this time featuring a Phantom, a butterfly knife, a player card, a gun buddy, and a spray. It’s unclear whether Champions bundles will be a permanent annual tradition.
