A new CS:GO champion has been decided at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen following another day of action in Denmark.
Natus Vincere emerged victorious as the winner of the $250,000 event over many of the world’s best teams, including Astralis, FaZe Clan, Ninjas in Pyjamas, MIBR, and Cloud9. The CIS juggernaut won the grand finals after they finished atop the round robin group stage with a 4-1 record. NiP later met up with Na’Vi in the finale, even after they lost to Na’Vi in the round five matches.

Na’Vi quickly took control of the final, starting with a 6-1 lead on Mirage. The Swedes found their way into the game before the half and after winning the second pistol round, but Na’Vi ultimately pulled ahead on their T side. The CIS offensive overpowered the Swedish side at 10-10, crushing them in the second half and losing only one buy round to NiP because of a clutch from Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson.
Inferno, on the other hand, was a much more tight bout right out of the gate. Both sides traded rounds and reset each other’s economy up until Na’Vi led 8-7 at halftime. Na’Vi then won the second pistol round thanks to a one-vs-three post-plant clutch from Denis “Electronic” Sharipov, and they won several more retakes to build a bigger lead. NiP put a few rounds on the board with some successful executes, but in the end, Na’Vi closed out the series in their favor at 16-12. Electronic topfragged the server at 28 kills on Inferno.

S1mple finished BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen as the highest rated player at a 1.43 HLTV 2.0 rating, with electronic not too far behind him at 1.32. HLTV named him the MVP of the event, making this the fifth time that he’s been given the award.
BLAST Pro Series marks Na’Vi’s fourth championship in 2018, following their wins at StarSeries Season Five, the CS:GO Asia Championship, and ESL One Cologne. Since Cologne, they’ve come up short at the two big events—the FACEIT London Major and EPICENTER—which they lost to Astralis and FaZe Clan. It’ll be interesting to see if Na’Vi can carry this winning momentum into IEM Chicago, or if Astralis, FaZe, or some other team can steal that event.
