In light of the game’s latest expansion Battle for Azeroth, World of Warcraft has overtaken Fortnite in viewers on Twitch. Blizzard’s long running MMORPG took over the streaming service with more than 250,000 viewers.

For months, Epic Games’ Fortnite: Battle Royale has reigned supreme among Twitch’s top games, with Fortnite averaging around 180,000 viewers per day according to TwitchMetrics. The game has seen even higher numbers during particularly memorable moments on Twitch, too; At its peak, Fortnite earned over 600,000 viewers from one stream between popular Fortnite player Ninja and rapper Drake.

However, with World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth’s release, Blizzard’s MMORPG has boosted the game back into the spotlight, landing the title the number one slot on Twitch. With Fortnite holding just over 200,000 viewers, World of Warcraft’s success suggests that Blizzard still has the ability to dominate Twitch when the company chooses to do so.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is the latest expansion pack for Blizzard’s hit MMORPG World of Warcraft. The new addition increases the game’s level cap to 120, changes up player-vs-player gameplay, allows players to unlock the Alliance’s racer for their parties, introduces new raids for players, and expands the game’s lore. Interested players can purchase the expansino for $49.99.
