The Mythical Pokémon Hoopa has been responsible for a lot of the ongoing events and interactions within Pokémon Go, hence the current season of content being called the Season of Mischief.
As part of the mischievous wave of new content, Niantic introduced a new Special Research that has been running throughout the season—Misunderstood Mischief.
The Misunderstood Mischief Special Research has already allowed players to encounter Hoopa by helping Professor Willow with his investigation into the mysterious anomalies that surround the Mythical Pokémon, such as its ability to use its rings for a variety of purposes. The research itself is pretty lengthy, and now it has a time limit too.
To start the month, Niantic confirmed that there would be an “epic event” to close out the Season of Mischief from Nov. 26 to 29 and would include a new Special Research story available for those who have completed the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research already. We don’t have many details for now, but we do know the event will feature Hoopa—and very likely has something to do with Hoopa Unbound and obtaining the unleashed variant of the Pokémon.
This new Special Research story will not only be available to those who complete the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research story in time.
Any player that is unable to complete the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research story by Nov. 26 will still be able to take part in the new event’s Special Research by purchasing a $5 Special Research story ticket from the in-game shop. This is a method Niantic has used several times in the past to allow more users who may have limited time to play Pokémon Go a chance to get in on the action.
More details about this end-of-season event, its Special Research, and just what types of mischief Hoopa will get up do before Dec. 1 should be revealed in the coming weeks.
