Diablo 2: Resurrected can sometimes have unpredictably shaky servers, as is the case with any game in 2023.
At any given time, the online ARPG can have server problems that will manifest themselves in things like issues creating lobbies and temporarily having their characters deleted. So, keeping an eye on Blizzard’s server status is probably a good idea.
Here’s how to check the Diablo 2: Resurrected server status.
How to check Diablo server status
D2R players kicked from lobbies may sometimes see an error pop up claiming “an issue occurred while communicating with the game servers.” While you may be asked to check your internet connection, the issue is likely on Blizzard’s end, as it’s probably a widespread issue.
The simplest way to check if there’s an issue with the D2R servers is through the Battle.net launcher. Blizzard will likely provide an update on the server status there.
Most recently, players began receiving error messages like the one above on April 19 when Blizzard’s Battle.net was suffering a DDoS attack. This means that the issue is completely out of the player’s hands, and the game will hopefully come back to normal once the attack subsides.
If Blizzard hasn’t updated the launcher with information and you’re unable to get into the game, Downdetector offers real-time status and outage information on a plethora of titles.
Downdetector’s Diablo page will show any time there’s an issue. Fans can also look at Downdetector’s Battle.net page for more confirmation since that’s the game’s launcher on the PC platform.
Fans can also visit the Diablo and Blizzard Customer Support Twitters for updates. If there are issues with the game or any Blizzard titles, the company will likely be posting about it.
