As of The Final Shape update in 2024, Xur no longer darts around the system every weekend. He’s set up shop in the Tower behind the Bazaar and has expanded his shop to include an assortment of items, all for a cost: You’ll need Strange Coin to barter with him for his items.

Here’s everything you need to know about Xur and the gear he has for sale in Destiny 2 this week.

Xenology Quest: How to get more Exotic Cyphers

In addition to his regular inventory, Xur also carries a quest called Xenology, which awards Destiny 2 players with an Exotic Cipher after completing its requirements. It’s a straightforward mission, but it can be time-consuming.

To finish Xenology, players must complete 21 Ritual Activities (Vanguard, Gambit, or Crucible). Progress moves faster by doing those activities with clanmates or at higher difficulties. The mission awards one Exotic Cipher, and it doesn’t have to be completed within the same week of obtaining it, although you can’t turn it in and get another shot at the quest until next week.
