Overwatch can add another award nomination to its contiguously growing list of accolades.
Blizzard Entertainment’s first-person shooter has been nominated for a Webby Award as the best multiplayer/competitive game. Blizzard’s Hearthstone, Epic Games’ Fortnite, Supergiant Games’ Pyre, and Robot Academy’s Hero Academy 2 have join Overwatch in the category.
The Webby Awards, presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, have been running for 22 years. Webby Awards are specific to the internet, and highlight the best of the best on the world wide web.

Of course, Fortnite is the hottest game on the market right now, so it seems unlikely that any game would win over Fortnite.
Voting for The Webby Awards will stay open until April 19. Other video game categories include awards for best action, family, activism, puzzle, social impact, sports, strategy, and trivia games.
Last year, Overwatch animated short The Last Bastion won a People’s Voice Webby award for the best writing in a film or video. The official award went to New York Times Magazine’s Great Performers: L.A. Noir, but the people chose The Last Bastion.
Overwatch has won a number of honors over the years since its release, including multiple accolades at the Golden Joystick Awards in November 2017 and the esports game of the year at The Game Awards in December 2017. Overwatch was also nominated for four BAFTAs, including the 2016 game of the year. Clash Royale beat out Overwatch as the best esports game that year, however.
