Today’s action in the European League Championship Series (LCS) Regional Finals for the League of Legends 2016 Summer Split just concluded. The first match pitted Unicorns of Love against Giants.
Here is what happened in the first match:
Game One
This game was pure domination from UoL. Constant pressure was exerted from all of the players, never letting Giants gain any ground.
From start to finish, this game only took 23 total minutes and UoL players only had two total deaths, while earning 17 kills. Fabian “Exileh” Schubert’s 6/0/7 performance on Karma sealed the deal.

Game Two
Game two was much closer than game one, and the end of the game even saw Giants have a gold lead over UoL. Alas, it was not enough. The early lead from Giants did not translate into domination throughout the rest of the game, and UoL won a teamfight at a deficit in the final minutes of the game and pushed for the win.
Kim “Veritas” Kyoung-min’s 6/1/5 performance on Sivir kept UoL in the game and allowed the squad to scale and win the final decisive fight.

Game Three
Game three was not close. It looked very similar to game one. In less than 26 minutes, UoL took down Giants once again and won the series 3-0.
Also similar to game one, Exileh’s performance was the cornerstone to UoL’s win. Vladimir is still one of the best champions in the game and Exileh showed us why, going 7/1/3 and demolishing his opponent in lane.

With the win, UoL advanced to the second round of the Regional Finals to face Fnatic tomorrow. The winner of that match will face Splyce on Monday in order to determine the European region’s third-seed representative for Worlds.
