Fan-favorite North American organization Immortals had a poor finish to the year in the League of Legends aspect. After only dropping three games in the regular season of both splits combined, as well as winning back-to-back third place trophies, the team failed to qualify for Worlds through the gauntlet.
Cloud9 beat Team Liquid 3-0 and then Immortals 3-1, prompting immediate roster change talk. Immortals current roster is:
- Top – Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon
- Jungle – Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin
- Mid – Eugene “Pobelter” Park
- ADC – Jason “WildTurtle” Tran
- Support – Adrian “Adrian” Ma
- Coach – Dylan Falco
The air was slightly cleared after Immortals CEO Noah Whinston said that “these are problems we will address going forward,” during a video addressed to fans. “I want our team next year to be made up of players that choose to be a part of Immortals, not ones that feel like they’re forced to be.”
This means that Immortals will take offers for all of their players and handle those based on player feedback. Despite the offers being run through the organization, the players get the ultimate decision on whether they will be returning to Immortals.
Immortals’ promise to be a “player first” organization is currently being tested, and they are following through. The organization plans on continuing to field a competitive LoL roster, as well as expanding through signing players in other esport titles.
Overall, Immortals aims to continue being competitive, but is now open to offers for their LoL roster.
