Teams relegated from Season 2 will be in attendance:

  • Optic Nation
  • Automatic Reload
  • Prophecy
  • JusTus

Organizations that submitted rosters with a large number of pro points earned in competitive competition have also qualified for the tournament. A total of 8 have qualified in this way:

  • vVv Gaming
  • Team Orbit
  • Enigma 6
  • Strictly Business
  • sYnergy Gaming
  • Epsilon
  • Isolation eSports
  • 3’s UP

An online qualifier was hosted to determine the last 4 teams:

  • Mutiny
  • Vexx Gaming
  • dT Pro
  • Geared for Gaming

There are no real surprises here; the teams that qualified have been well known in the competitive Call of Duty community from previous competitions. Perhaps the team that many people would like to see in the next season is Enigma 6,  who turned heads at the last major LAN event (UMG Cali) and then won another MES tournament the following weekend.

The relegation tournament will be a unique one in that 8 of the top teams will not be in attendance because they already qualified for the MLG Season 3 Pro League by placing well in Season 2. Those teams, which include number 1 ranked Optic Gaming, will be at XGames Austin in one week, the second time Call of Duty has been featured at the event.
