Ryan “PurpleDrank” Murphy-Root is a Hearthstone player from Canada, currently playing for GamersOrigin. He also serves as the Hearthstone coach of Team Archon, and specifically for the current world champion, Firebat. He has not been seen in many renowned tournaments, as he has only played in The Pinnacle 4 where he placed third and, of course, the HWC Qualifiers 2015 in which he came first. He is considered one of the best players in the world and we have yet much more to see of him. What remains to be seen is how he will do in the main event; there are a lot of people that favour him as the new champion.

Second place was earned by Hotform, walking away with $5,000.

Dylan “Hotform” Mullins is another Canadian player, currently playing for ROOT Gaming. He has not been seen in large tournaments apart from winning the first ONOG NA Summer Circuit Qualifiers. He became widely known for playing Shaman on his stream. Now that he has qualified for the main event, he is one step closer to becoming more famous and subsequently getting invited to more tournaments. His future is bright.

Coming 3rd and 4th were JAB and nias, taking home $2,500 each.

Justin “JAB” Black is a Hearthstone player from the United States. He is currently playing for Team Hearthlytics. JAB has had a great run in tournaments such as ESL HS Challenger Series #11, Prismata Cup 2 and The Pinnacle. However, he is most known for coming in 4th at Kinguin For Charity – Easter Edition 2015, and being the runner-up at eSports Arena Invitational. He has a background playing card games such as Magic: The Gathering and studying Computer Science. He has great potential and will fight hard in order to secure a high placement in the main event.

And last but not least, nias, the big surprise and the underdog of the series, who made an excellent run and increased his cache with $2,500.

nias

Victor “nias” Shelstad is a Hearthstone player from the United States. He is currently teamless, but we all guess that won’t be the case for much longer. We haven’t seen him in another renowned tour, however nias had an exceptional performance at the HWC Qualifiers. Being the total underdog, he came out of nowhere and placed in the top 4 players of the Americas. From what we’ve seen so far, apart from a great player, he has a great personality and he is also waiting for a baby daughter soon. A major part of the community roots for him and hopes he will manage to place high in the main event. We wish him all the best.
