According to an edit of an existing press release on the CWL blog, players will only earn a maximum of 50 pro points on the CWL Pro Point Ladder per 24 hour period, beginning on Friday, Jan. 20 at 3:00 a.m. ET.

Players looking to gain pro points can still compete in matches, however, after they reach 50 points, they will no longer earn any additional points until 3 a.m. EST the next day.

Call of Duty pros from around the world shared their experience with the current pro point system, with Jonathan “SinfuL” Baez having one of the most candid responses to the issue, saying that the pro point ladder was having a negative impact on his health.

With a majority of the responses to the old pro point ladder situation being negative, and with this change to the system announced at 1:00 p.m. EST, some pros and members of the community were very quick to applaud the change.

Also included in the edited press release was the announcement that all online 2K European tournaments will start at 12:00 p.m. GMT, starting with the one on Feb. 5. Furthermore, the American tournament for that weekend will be rescheduled from Feb. 5 (Super Bowl Sunday) to Feb. 4.

Outside of the announcement, MLG Senior Director of League Operations and Events, Adam Apicella, confirmed that there will be prize money to go along with pro points as rewards for placement in the online 2K tournaments.
