Exclusive Fortnite Wonder skin to be released for HONOR A20 smartphone owners

The deal looks a lot like the Samsung and iKONIC promotion.

Huawei’s smartphone sub-brand HONOR has announced a partnership with Epic Games to give away the exclusive Wonder outfit for players who buy a phone from the company’s new HONOR 20 Series. HONOR announced the collaboration today during the global launch event of the series.

There are no further details about the promotion, such as when it starts or ends. Since it was part of the global launch, it’s probably valid once A20 series is available for purchase.

This HONOR deal is similar to what Samsung did with the iKONIK skin when it released its Galaxy S10 series. Players who bought any smartphone of the series could also unlock this skin, inspired by k-pop band iKON, as soon as they installed Fortnite on their device. It came with the Scenario emote, while the new HONOR promotion is apparently missing one.

It’s no coincidence that this Chinese brand is releasing a similar promotion. According to the company, A20 series’ launch is set to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S10 line in terms of hardware and features, so going as far as offering a similar promotion upon purchase makes it look like HONOR is going all-in for this competition.

If HONOR’s sale is similar to Samsung’s, players will have to buy the phone from authorized retailers to be eligible to claim the Wonder outfit. It should be available to both those who pre-order the phone and those who buy it after release, but for a limited time only. They’ll most likely have to download Fortnite on their A20 to have the skin added to their Locker automatically.

We expect Epic Games and HONOR to provide more information about this partnership soon.
