Satisfactory has several buildings you can use to grow your factory and run its daily functions. Some are used for crafting items, while others assemble resources into essential components. One of these structures is the Power Tower, so here’s everything you need to know about it.
Satisfactory 1.0 adds several new buildings and tools to the game while updating the designs and functions of existing ones. The latest version has also brought in new players, resulting in the game hitting peak player counts. Over 186k players are enjoying the title on Steam alone, with more using the Epic Games version.
Power Towers have been in the game since Patch 0.8.0.0, and their significance only increases as you expand your factory. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get and use Power Towers in Satisfactory.
All Power Tower uses in Satisfactory
Power Towers are used to extend and maintain your power grid over long distances in Satisfactory. They can be placed similarly to Power Poles but can instead help you provide electricity to a larger part of your factory by using power lines that reach greater distances.
These buildings are great for connecting spaced-out structures like miners and supplying power to the opposite ends of large factories. They can also be a better alternative than building a railway network to transmit power in many situations, as the latter may not be what you want in every scenario. You can also use them as vantage points, like watch towers.
Another effective use for Power Towers is for connecting zip lines. The structure has two variants, with one being the regular Power Tower and the other being the Power Tower Platform. While the former cannot be climbed, the latter has a platform and a ladder, which can be used to ascend and attach ziplines to it, thus giving it a dual purpose. In addition, you can attach Catwalks and Walkways to the Power Tower Platform.
How to get Power Towers in Satisfactory
You can unlock Power Towers by progressing to Tier 4 (Expanded Power Infrastructure). You need the following resources to craft a Power Tower:
- Concrete (10)
- Wire (20)
- Steel Beam (20)
Once you’ve started placing down your Power Towers, remember to have tons of Cables and the ingredients listed above in your inventory, as you need 12 Cables for every tower you extend to and might have to make more towers as you progress. You can also upgrade a regular Power Tower to the Platform variant without dismantling it.
With the game being in early access for five years, many existing players know their way around the map and how to work with different types of components and buildings. However, newer players might struggle to progress with so much to craft, plan, and design. Thankfully, learning how Power Towers work can significantly boost your power production in the game.
