The upcoming remaster-slash-update for New World, Aeternum, is available for free in the upcoming open beta. If you want to jump into the playtest as soon as possible, the game has a pre-load feature you can use.

Pre-load for the New World: Aeternum open beta is available from Sept. 11 at 9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST. This gives you two days to pre-load the game and make sure everything is ready when the open beta kicks off on Sept. 13.

The open beta is completely free. You don’t have to own New World or any of its DLCs to try out Aeternum. You don’t need an active online subscription to play the open beta on a console, except in Germany on PS5.

How to pre-load New World Aeternum open beta

Pre-loading the open beta of New World: Aeternum should work like any other game. At the time of writing, we don’t know how much space you need to pre-load and play the open beta.

Here’s how to pre-load New World: Aeternum on all platforms:

  • PC: Search for New World on Steam and use the banner on the game’s page to download the open beta.
  • PlayStation 5: Open the PS Store, search for New World: Aeternum, and download the open beta.
  • Xbox Series X|S: Open the Microsoft Store, search for New World: Aeternum, and download the open beta.

With this, you should be all set to jump into the open beta once it’s available and start earning exclusive rewards that’ll become available when the update fully launches on Oct. 15.
