The Nations Cup is among the biggest tournaments in the PUBG esports calendar, though teams don’t earn any PGS points that go toward a direct invitation to the PUBG Global Championship.

This edition of the PUBG Nations Cup saw 16 teams from across the world meet in Seoul to compete for $300,000 USD, which will considerably increase (from crowdfunding) by adding 30 percent of the sales generated from the PNC 2024 skins. Last year, the pool started with the same base prize money, growing to a massive $710,000 USD after the crowdfunding was completed. With the PNC 2024 item sales period lasting until Oct. 10, the number won’t be finalized until long after a winner has been crowned.

There were no groups for the four teams from each region: Americas, Asia, Europe, and APAC (Asia-Pacific), which played six rounds (or matches) daily to complete 18 total rounds in the tournament, stretching across three days.

To win, teams needed to accumulate as many points as possible through good placements and kill count in every match. PUBG Nations Cup 2024 followed the global point rules, which earn the participating teams one point for every kill and 10 points for securing the chicken dinner (first position) in any round.

Considering the start the United States and South Korea had, both teams were underwhelming on the final day of the PUBG Nations Cup 2024. During the final round, South Korea managed to maintain their lead of one point over the United States by securing a better placement, ultimately winning the PUBG Nations Cup 2024.

With the consistent performance on the second and third days, Thailand was also in the running during the final match to topple the defending champions. If Thailand had won the final round or gotten a better placement with just four more kills, it would have definitely secured them the trophy. However, China quickly dispatched three members of Thailand, leaving the hopeful nation with a fourth-place finish in the match and third overall.
