Every year, a Call of Duty beta releases to give players a taste of what’s new and fresh in the franchise. And every year, it ends, and players must return to the previous game.

It might feel unfortunate to get a peek at a game like Black Ops 6’s new approach to movement and then return to a game like Modern Warfare 3, which is still fun but “old news” by then—but such is life.

The BO6 beta has been a hit with players thanks to its omnimovement, weapons, and slick gunplay. But the fun won’t last forever, as the beta must end for Treyarch to implement changes, fixes, and more to get ready for the game’s full launch just before Halloween.

Here’s exactly when the BO6 beta ends and how much time you have to play it before it’s gone.

Technically, the BO6 has two different end dates, thanks to there being two different beta periods: the early access beta that ends on Sept. 4, and the open beta that ends on Sept. 9, which is available to all players across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

We’ve got some handy countdowns below that illustrate exactly when the betas close and it’s time to hit up MW3 again to finish up battle pass unlocks and challenges before the new game launches.

The open beta kicks off on Sept. 6 at 12pm CT. Here’s a countdown to when the BO6 open beta begins:

And here’s when the BO6 final open beta ends, offering players the last chance to enjoy BO6 before the game launches:

BO6 open beta end time

The BO6 open beta is just a small sample of what’s to come in the full release. The beta offers a handful of guns, maps, and modes that will be released alongside the game on Oct. 25, and doesn’t include Zombies or a sliver of the campaign. So if you’re enjoying the BO6 beta, there’s even more excitement to come in less than two months.

When the beta ends, attention turns back to MW3 for season six. It’s very likely season six will extend well into BO6’s launch period and allow players to rank up and earn rewards for the new game before season one of BO6 launches before the end of the year.
