Aurora Gaming has expanded to East Asia after launching its all-star, all-Filipino Mobile Legends: Bang Bang roster for the upcoming 14th season of the MLBB Professional League in the Philippines.
The Serbian esports organization held its official MLBB launch on July 27, where the organization announced its debut line-up for the upcoming MPL PH season this August. The roster is headlined by former M3 world champions, mainly the “Royal Duo” of Johnmar “Ohmyv33nus” Villaluna and Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario from Blacklist International, also known as the “V33Wise tandem.” The pair will be the official faces of Aurora, but won’t be in the Mobile Legends server: They’ll be directors of esports and content for the team.
“Ohmyv33nus and Wise hold a pivotal position in Aurora’s management team where their responsibilities convey Aurora’s vision of building an organization that is truly for the players and by the players,” Aurora said in a press release. “They’ve been through everything and they know exactly what they’re doing. We also recognize that their roles are set to expand beyond this as we all continue to grow in the future.”
The player lineup is spearheaded by three former Blacklist International players. Edward “Edward” Dapdap, Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse and Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo will all be bringing their talents to Aurora as its EXP laner, team captain/roam-tank, and mid-support, respectively.
Completing the squad is Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto, who is known for his mastery of the Jungler role when he played for RSG Philippines and won the MLBB Mid Season Cup in 2022, and Jan Dominic “Domeng” Del Mundo, a gold laner standout and former player from Minana EVOS.
TNC Pro Team’s long-time player and coach Ben “Benthings” Maglaque will be joining Aurora as its sixth man. The head coach for the team is Aniel “Master The Basics” Jiandani, Blacklist’s former coach who brought his team to a top-three finish in the M5 World Championship. Dexter “DexStar” Alaba will be serving as Aurora Gaming’s analyst.
Former Blacklist International team manager Elrasec “Rada” Ocampo has been appointed as Aurora MLBB‘s general manager. When asked about why he returned to the pro scene of MLBB, Rada simply answered by saying that he “missed being champions.”
Aurora’s MLBB team is the newest addition to its already stellar esports network two years on from the org’s founding. This includes games such as Counter-Strike 2, Apex Legends, Warcraft, and Dota 2.
