OpTic Gaming is making some big changes to its Counter-Strike roster. The team has parted ways with veteran René “cajunb” Borg, and has added in-game leader Mathias “MSL“ Lauridsen and Nikolaj “niko“ Kristensen.
This news comes only hours after the team announced the departure of cajunb. This also means that OpTic will have to move another player to its inactive list to make room for the new recruits.
MSL and niko are coming from Rogue, where they qualified for the ECS Season 7 Finals during the first week of play in North America. Rogue has actually disbanded its CS:GO team, as losing both players meant that the team would have to rebuild its roster once more.
Meanwhile, the next player that OpTic Gaming may part ways with has been rumored to be Jakob “JUGi” Hansen. There have been multiple reports that JUGi may be leaving to join another organization, like Cloud9, to fill some of their vacant roster slots.
Should JUGi leave, OpTic Gaming’s new roster would consist of MSL, niko,
Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke, Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, and Ismail “refrezh” Ali. We will get to see this new-look roster in action at the GG.Bet Sydney Invitational semifinals.
