The first time around, Imane “Pokimane” Anys’ team EZ Clap were the resounding victors. They decisively beat out Team One Tricks and rightfully took home their share of the $75,000 prize pool. This time it’s a little different. The format has changed, and there’s no longer 16 teams.

Instead, the event is separated into Noxus and Demacia. Each faction will consist of 30 players, and they’ll face off against each other for wins in a blind pick rotating format. The tournament will be an all-out brawl. The fiesta will give players the opportunity to show off their teamwork, champion mastery, and role proficiency, and it should lead to an exciting turn of events.

The tournament will be split into two parts. The best players in the qualifying stage will advance to the TwitchCon Europe live finals in Berlin, Germany, April. 14.

Format

The League of Legends Showdown is a role-robin, where players will receive a cash prize for every win. This means that each competitor will play in turn against one another. Matches will accumulate and, eventually, the top player from each role will be chosen to compete in the final match as Noxus vs. Demacia.
