Although water isn’t a required resource in Enshrouded, it’s certainly a useful one to have thanks to the stamina benefits it provides. But without knowing where to look, getting your hands on some water is easier said than done.

Enshrouded: How to get Water
Unlike most survival games, you can’t get water from natural sources like ponds or rivers, so you have to be conscious about your water usage. In Enshrouded, there are only two ways to get water: looting it or scooping it from wells. You can loot water from crates, sacks, or tables. But since you’re not guaranteed to find water every time you loot one of these places, there’s no way to farm for it from drops alone.
We recommend finding wells around Embervale—or crafting your own, once you’ve met a few key resources—if you want a constant stream of water.
Enshrouded well locations
A surefire way of finding wells is to look for them in the desolate villages you’ll find around Embervale. The first well you can find in Enshrouded is a few paces northeast of the Longkeep map marker, just before the Shroud. It’s near the cooking fire where you first learn how to cook food. Thankfully, the water you draw from the well is unlimited, so you can return to it whenever you run low or out. If you’re looking for other locations for wells, however, we’ve marked a few on the map above.
Make sure you’re revisiting wells after a while, since their supply of water will respawn. While the exact amount of time it takes for water to respawn isn’t known, somewhere between one and two in-game days seems to be the sweetspot.
You can also craft your own well once you’ve reached the Pillars of Creation and have unlocked the Carpenter and Masonry Tools. Crafting a well means easy access to water from the safety of your own base, and you won’t have to worry about searching the lands or returning to your marked locations on the map just to get it. To craft a well from the Carpenter, you first need to make a bucket, which requires the following materials:
- Two Wood Planks
- One Metal Sheet
- One Charcoal
Once you have your bucket, speak to the Carpenter again, and look for the “Production Place” tab. There, you’ll find a well, and to make it, you’ll need these ingredients:
- 20 Linen
- 100 Stone
- One Wooden Bucket
Benefits of drinking Water in Enshrouded
You will gain plus one increased Endurance and plus two Stamina Recharge upon consuming water. So, not only will you gain more stamina, but it will also recharge faster, which is essential for running, fighting, and dodging. But this buff isn’t permanent; it only lasts 10 minutes, meaning you must continue consuming water if you want increased Endurance and Stamina Regeneration.
So whether you want to increase your Endurance or Stamina Regeneration, this is everything you need to know about how to get water and where to find it in Enshrouded.
