Streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek has left the hospital he was in following his first elbow surgery, he said on Twitter.
Shroud was discharged today. He said on Twitter earlier that he was going to be discharged in 24 hours to take antibiotics, but he then confirmed he’s leaving earlier instead. He said he was told to keep his fingers and shoulder moving and joked about it, saying “I guess we’re gaming.” It’s unclear if he’s actually streaming games soon, though.
Shroud will be recovering at home from a surgery he had on his left elbow yesterday after a scooter accident he had the day before. He has confirmed he’ll undergo a second surgery at the start of next week, but he refrained from describing his injury in detail.
According to shroud’s friend Justin “Just9n” Ortiz, the streamer was tossed 10 to 12 feet from his scooter on March 11 after braking too hard. He fell with all his weight on his left elbow, tearing a ligament and breaking loose a piece of an elbow bone. Just9n said shroud “almost died” in the accident, but the streamer has now confirmed he’s ready to go home after the antibiotics.
Shroud is one of the most successful streamers on Twitch. He just recently surpassed the 100,000 subscribers mark on the platform, almost four times more than Fortnite: Battle Royale start Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.
Shroud streams mostly first-person shooter games, and his main focus is on Apex Legends. He has yet to reveal when he’ll be able to stream again but said he might do a short IRL stream when he’s back home.
