The first step of the collab between LEGO and Fortnite in gaming has arrived, bringing a new survival crafting game set to please any Minecraft fan—and maybe even convert them. But is it permanent or limited time?
Earlier this month, Epic Games gifted Fortnite fans with some surprises and announcements during the Big Bang event. That’s when the exclusive LEGO game mode was officially unveiled. It’s the first step of a partnership announced back in 2022, which aims to “build positive digital play experiences that enable young players to become the creators of tomorrow.”
Though released inside Fortnite, the LEGO game mode is defined as the “ultimate survival crafting game.
In addition to the new game mode, the collab includes revamped versions of the most iconic Outfits in the game—now LEGO-style. Prepare to see characters like Fishstick and Peely in a way you’ve never seen them before.
Is the LEGO collab a permanent game mode in Fortnite?
Yes, LEGO Fortnite is a permanent addition to the game. Considering it’s practically an entirely new game and not some small side activity, it’d be shocking if Epic Games only intended to run it for a limited time.
Plus, Epic Games clearly has more plans in store for LEGO Fortnite, with an update on the Fortnite website reading, “This is only the beginning of the adventure, so please stay tuned for exciting updates coming in the future!”
What those updates could be is something fans can only theorize for now although it wouldn’t be surprising if LEGO Fortnite saw further crossovers with other properties just like the main battle royale. In fact, one Fortnite leaker has claimed Marvel and Star Wars collaborations are on their way, and dataminers say they’ve found evidence of Mr. Beast appearing in LEGO form.
