Dignitas fe were successful in defending their title as champions of Intel Challenge Katowice, defeating CLG Red 2-0 in the grand finals.
Despite claiming $25,000, the path to victory wasn’t the smoothest for this roster. Starting in Group B of the CS:GO tournament, which saw eight teams compete, Dignitas fe finished with two wins and a loss to progress into the playoffs.
They started their campaign with a 16-8 victory over Orgless fe on Train, but that was quickly followed by a convincing defeat to Assassins on Dust II. The match that secured their spot in the next stage of the competition saw them face off against paiN fe in a best-of-three series, in which they won 16-1 on Train and 16-6 on Mirage.
Moving on to the semifinals, Dignitas fe went up against Besiktas. After winning the opening map, Overpass, 16-12, they felt certain that they’d get a chance to defend their title as Intel Challenge Katowice champions. The next two map choices were Mirage and Inferno, and they narrowly lost out on the former 16-13 before securing the series win on Inferno with a blowout 16-1 scoreline.
Dignitas fe’s final opponents were CLG Red, a heavy-hitting team in their own right. But in somewhat-surprising fashion, the series was a walk in the park for the eventual victors. First map, Mirage, went 16-4 in their favor, and Nuke was the map that allowed them to seal the deal with a 16-10 performance.
While Dignitas fe solidified their status as the best female roster in CS:GO right now, the IEM Katowice Major is still underway. ENCE and Natus Vincere are facing off in the first semifinal, while Astralis and MIBR will battle it out later today.
