Updates are flying around from the PUBG development team, but nothing has happened on console since the January update that brought the Vikendi map to both Xbox and PlayStation.

Since that update went live on Jan. 22, players have complained about performance issues that the development team has been working to fix. In an update posted to the official PUBG website, the tentatively-scheduled Feb. 28 update has officially been delayed until March 5 due to “unforeseen technical issues.”

“As we previously stated on Feb. 15, our dev team has been focusing on fixing these issues, with a tentative update scheduled for Feb. 28,” the post reads. “Sadly, due to technical issues which would result in further harm to game stability, we made the difficult decision to push back the patch date to March 5.”

As the next patch gets pushed back a little less than a week, it now coincides with the upcoming crossover with Horizon: Zero Dawn that will start up the same day for players on PS4.

Side-patches have been released to help fix smaller issues, like a problem that had Xbox players being matched into games on servers outside of their region, which severely degraded the experience with high ping and lag. This was resolved on Feb. 27, but the dev team is still keeping its eyes on the issue as it works on the upcoming full patch.

The announcement of the delay didn’t sit well with some of the fan base, leading to several comments and videos where people took shots at Bluehole.

As a result of the delays and issues, Bluehole is going to give players an unspecified gift. Those details will be revealed along with the release of the patch on March 5.
