Every creature has a strategy you can deal with, and a good way to learn about this strategy is to get close enough to scan them. A Thumper won’t be slow to react to you getting close to it, so make sure you’re ready to run if you’re about to get the drop on you. Here’s what you need to know about how to deal with Thumpers in Lethal Company.

How to beat Thumpers in Lethal Company

Unlike the blind Spider in Lethal CompanyThumpers are deaf. They typically spawn in pairs, roaming across the entire Facility in search of their next victim. Without any legs to carry itself on, the Thumper pulls its body across the floor using its arms. This creates loud thumping noises, thus creating its name. The Thumper can only spot you using its eyesight. Its vision is immaculate, making it incredibly hard to avoid its gaze if you’re spotted down a narrow path.

Due to its lack of hearing, it is best to hide behind a corner or quickly exit through a doorway, preferably shutting the door behind you. Thumpers spend most of their time running around, giving you a brief opportunity to escape its gaze. They tend to hover around the Main Entrance, making them an annoying monster to deal with. Make sure to look out for “nearby activity” at the Main Entrance’s exterior before you blissfully enter the Facility.

You can defeat and kill Thumpers. Weapons that can kill Thumpers are the Shovel, Stop-Sign or Yield-Sign, and ShotgunIt takes four good whacks and a single shotgun bullet to kill one. While the rail strategy for Bunker Spiders and Thumpers has been removed, you can adopt a different strategy. This is to hit the Thumper while moving backward. Keep the Thumper within your line of sight and walk backward, hitting it only when the monster gets close.

Using corners to your advantage is a good way to outmaneuver a Thumper. Run as quickly as possible through the factory, and try to work with your allies to get around it. One of you can lure it toward them while someone else uses a shovel to beat it down. This course of action does come with plenty of risks, though. It only takes a few hits from a Thumper to down your character, and you’ll lose everything you were carrying. Always keep a safe distance from the Thumper and get those crucial hits in while it chases you and your friends.
