It's a very small update.

Fortnite’s v7.40 Content Update patch notes are now live. This most likely is the last update of season seven, which ends next week on Feb. 27.

We already knew what to expect. When Epic confirmed last night that it was coming this morning, the company said no downtime was required, which is unusual for big updates. That’s why we were already expecting a v7.40 Content Update with small additions and changes, just like the one that’s been revealed today.

The new vehicle, Driftboard, has finally arrived, more Overtime challenges will eventually come later today as part of the season’s end, and new weapon and item adjustments are now in effect.

These are the highlights of the v7.40 Content Update that all players will have access to soon.

Driftboard

Fortnite developer Epic Games has finally revealed the Driftboard. It’s a one-player vehicle that allows players to ride slopes while still using every item and weapon they have. Epic says players can shoot, use consumables, and revive allies without ever getting off the Driftboard. Players just won’t be able to build while on a Driftboard.

Players should be able to find it all around the map. Even though it’s finally in the game, it’s unclear how the end of season seven will affect the Fortnite island and if it will continue in the game during season eight. Fans would probably like to use it the most they can this week in case it’s leaving in the next one.

New Limited Time Modes

To celebrate the addition of the Dritboard, Epic is adding the Driftin’ LTM this week. It’s a big-team mode with two teams of 32 players. Chests or ammo boxes are gone, and Supply Drops are the only way to find loot. They contain weapons, ammo, and a Driftboard each. The Driftboard grants passive health and shield regeneration to its users.

Another mode called Catch! LTM will have players using only throwable items. Guns are disabled, chest and floor loot spawn are set to 100 percent, Supply Drops appear more often, and storm circles are way faster than in other standard modes. Players will have to be good with timing their explosions to win the match.

These are the only changes in the v7.40 Content Update. No other weapons and items were added, removed, or changed, and no other big map changes were announced. Players will need to explore the game to find any other changes that might not be in the patch notes.
