The symbiote is one of Spider-Man 2’s most interesting aspects for gameplay and its plot line, but if you’re sick of its dull black and white digs, can you change its color?
While the symbiote suit remains iconic, with the variety of suits Spider-Man 2 has to offer, it’s understandable if players would like to switch it up. The symbiote has made its debut in Spider-Man 2, and it’s a welcomed arrival.
But now Insomniac has given me a taste of suit variations, I want to change my symbiote wardrobe.
Spoilers ahead, you have been warned!
What is the symbiote in Spider-Man 2?
For those unfamiliar with the slimy, goo-like creature in Spider-Man 2, you’re about to encounter the infamous Venom. The symbiote hails from another planet and is one of Spider-Man 2’s key elements. It provides players with a whole set of new moves and abilities, all while pushing the story forward in unforeseen ways.
While different symbiotes attach to other characters throughout Spider-Man history, these other variations aren’t present in this story—excluding Scream.
Can you change the symbiote suit color in Spider-Man 2?
No, you can’t change the symbiote suit color in Spider-Man 2. This feature hasn’t been added, however, there is a variation you can don as Peter Parker.
The Anti-Venom suit is the only variation you can acquire as you progress through the story. While it’s technically not the exact same suit as the beloved Venom attire, it’s the next best thing.
You’ll earn the Anti-Venom suit once Miles Morales and Mister Negative explore the depths of Peter Parker’s mind in the late stages of the main story. This suit provides almost a mirrored experience as the symbiote suit. Once Mister Negative gives Parker his powers, the Anti-Venom suit takes over.
This suit is the polar opposite of the original symbiote attire. But, it still provides the same feel and abilities as the original symbiote suit.
Once you’ve completed the main Spider-Man 2 story, you’ll be able to don both versions of the suit through your suit page.
