Spider-Man 2 allows players to go wild swinging from the rooftops and collecting trophies along the way. Throughout the story, players will garner a solid collection of trophies, but some you can’t get from the story alone, like the Surge trophy.
For those collectors out there, the Surge trophy isn’t a difficult one to attain. I spent a while attempting to get my hands on the Surge trophy, and it was relatively easy.
The only issue with this trophy is the amount of time it takes to achieve it. But, fear not, where there’s a will, there is a way.
How to unlock the Surge trophy in Spider-Man 2
To unlock the Surge trophy in Spider-Man 2, players must use Symbiote Abilities 25 times during Symbiote Surge. While this seems like a tall order, you can do it if you have enough enemies to fight, and the time to match.
Your Symbiote Surge is an incredibly powerful ability. The only thing you have to worry about is remembering to use it. Since the ability sits up the top right-hand corner, it’s easy to forget.
The best thing about this achievement is you can do it over time. Use your Symbiote Surge as you’re playing Spider-Man 2, and eventually, you’ll be rewarded.
If you’ve gone beyond your Symbiote-wearing days and reached the Anti-Venom suit stage, you can still use the Symbiote abilities.
When is the best time to use Symbiote Surge to get the Surge trophy in Spider-Man 2?
The best time to use Symbiote Surge in Spider-Man 2 is when you’re fighting a collection of Hunters or other crowds of opponents. This will make light work of any cluster of enemies. So while you’re in possession of the Symbiote Suit, fight the smaller fish scattered around the city. I did this, instead of progressing through the story.
Another time to use it is during your fights with Spider-Man 2 bosses, however, it’s suited to tackling a large group of opponents. So, saving it for then is your best bet.
